Fluorescein Injection for Ocular Angiography
Drug Preparations
- Fluorescite 10% for injection in single use 5ml vials (Alcon Inc)
- AK-Fluor 10% (Akorn)
- 100 mg/ml in 5 ml single vials
- AK-Fluor 25% (Akorn)
- 250 mg/ml in 2 ml single vials
IV Dosing
- Adults
- 500 mg (100 mg/ml) via IV
- Children
- 35 mg for each 10 lbs body weight (7.7 mg/kg)
Oral Dosing
- 10 cc (two vials) of 10% solution in 8 ounces of orange or apple juice
- 25 mg/kg or 500 mg capsules
- 4ml of 25% Fluorescein Lite (25mg/kg) (Hub Parmaceuticals) mixed with 30 ml Orange Juice, followed by additional 30 ml of plain orange juice to clear the taste. Oral FFA vs SD-OCT
