EDTA for Corneal Chelation

a.k.a. disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, N2EDTA chelation agent for removing corneal calcium deposits

  1. 0.3 ml sterile water injected into a lavender top, 3.0 ml K2-EDTA BD Vacutainer CBC tube (each tube has 5.4 mg K2-EDTA)
  2. Swirl the liquid around to dissolve the droplets of liquid in the container
  3. Aspirate the contents and add it to a second lavender top tube, repeat step 2
  4. Repeat for a total of 5 tubes
  5. results in 27 mg of K2-EDTA concentration of 9%, pH 5.8,
